Sugar Free Raspberry Jam
This sugar free raspberry jam recipe only contains two ingredients, raspberries and lemon juice. I started making my own jam when I ran out of my favorite go-to low sugar raspberry jam from Trader Joes. I was making my fluffy pancakes and was looking to add a little sweetness as a topping. Since I don’t indulge in maple syrup I use jam. I thought, I have frozen raspberries, why not make my own jam? So, I did. It was so incredibly easy that I stopped buying pre-made jams. The best thing, I didn’t add any sugar as the raspberries added their own sweetness to the jam.
Frozen or Fresh raspberries for your sugar free raspberry jam?
You can use either fresh or frozen raspberries for this sugar free raspberry jam recipe. I prefer to use frozen raspberries for a couple different reasons. One, I can store them in there freezer and make batches as I please without having to worry about fresh raspberries going bad. Two, in my experience frozen raspberries tend to be cheaper than the fresh alternative. Really, it’s up to you and your personal preference. You may just have to let the fresh raspberries reduce a little longer.
Not sweet enough?
If you are wanting a little sweeter raspberry jam or are trying to ween yourself into a sugar free diet. Adding 1-2 Tablespoons of raw sugar will help do the trick. For me, the natural sweetness of the raspberries is the perfect amount of sweet, so I choose not to add additional sugar.
